Cusiter fit to rejoin Scotland fold for autumn internationals

Autumn Internationals is arrival and England has faced the tragedy. Most of main player is not be a part of England rugby. There are three big matches against Australia, Argentina and New Zealand.

England captain Steve Borthwick is set to discover the extent of his eye injury on Monday after a kick to the face from Gloucester hooker Oliver Azam left him in hospital.

Borthwick needed five stitches after the incident early in Saracens' 19-16 victory and club medics took him to Moorfields Eye Hospital for closer examination of his eye-ball and eye-socket.

There were no concerns for Borthwick's sight but his right eye was closed when he left the field.

Saracens have their own video footage of the incident and head coach Mark McCall suspects Azam may have deliberately kicked out at Borthwick in a 13th-minute ruck.

McCall said: "We have had a quick look at it. We are concerned at the way it occurred and it would appear it may have been a deliberate act of foul play.

"Steve is at hospital to see if there is any damage to his eye-socket.

"It is more than a cut. His eye is completely closed over and at this stage we don't know how badly damaged it is.

"The video footage we have seen so far would appear to be reasonably clear.

"It is something nobody wants to see. Steve was on the ground and pretty much defenceless in the position he was in."

Azam denied deliberately kicking Borthwick and said any contact was accidental.

The Frenchman explained he had lashed out with his right leg because his left ankle was being twisted at the bottom of a ruck.

"I didn't know I did it. Someone twisted my ankle but I didn't know I touched him," he said.

"Of course (it was accidental)."

Saracens defied the loss of Borthwick to maintain the only unbeaten record in the Guinness Premiership and move top of the table.

Wasps' 100% start was ended by London Irish, who moved into second place with a 28-16 victory at the Madejski Stadium.

Exiles scrum-half Paul Hodgson produced an impressive display in front of England manager Martin Johnson and his assistants Brian Smith and Mike Ford.

And London Irish boss Toby Booth said: "It's a delight to have Paul on your side and in front of England selectors he's shown what he's good at.

"He has good core skills and can play with great clarity in high pressure games. He can be the midfield general.

"We must plan for life without him when the autumn internationals come around because I'm sure he'll be involved.

"England have their reasons for picking people in front of him, maybe because they want gamebreakers.

"But if they want someone who can contribute in a leadership aspect and in relationship to his own skill set, then he should be an automatic choice."

Hodgson may have been pulling the strings, but it was electric winger Sailosi Tagicakibau who stole the man-of-the-match award.

The Samoan try-machine took his tally for the season after four matches to five tries, showing his pace and predatory instincts to cross in each half.

Ryan Lamb kicked 15 points as Irish surged to second in the Premiership table and their line was only breached when Adam Thompstone conceded a penalty try for an illegal tackle on Dominic Waldouck.

The defeat was Wasps' first of the season and director of rugby Tony Hanks admitted they deserved to lose.

"We were beaten by the better team. They're the form side in the league and it showed you must be at your best to beat Irish at the Madejski Stadium," he said.
